Silver Cord Cascade is a tall and slender cascade tumbling some 1000ft on the south rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. This cascade looks like it will dry deep into the summer, but if you're in the area in spring or early summer, it's well worth checking out. You can view the cascade roughly a little over a mile into the much longer (and way more strenuous) Seven-Mile Hole Hike, which goes all the way to the floor of Yellowstone Canyon. There is no formal view of the falls, which sits across the canyon. So it's up to you to find a satisfying view (being careful not to get too far off trail or too close to the rim) before turning back or continuing on the longer trail. The trailhead is on the Inspiration Point Drive, whose turnoff is a little over a half-mile from Canyon Village on the one-way North Rim Drive. The trailhead and parking area is near the Glacial Boulder, which is less than a half-mile north of Inspiration Point.
